Puppetworks Animation Studio is a Budapest-based CG animation studio. Founded in 2009 by a team of highly-talented Hungarian 3D artists, Puppetworks has grown into an international studio with artists from all around the globe dedicated to creating high-quality 3D media.
Since its inception, Puppetworks has become renowned for the striking visual content it has produced for feature films, television, games, advertising and integrated media. To date, the studio has completed over 50 animated projects with the bulk of these projects being associated with names such as Ubisoft, Microsoft, Square Enix, Warner Bros., THQ Nordic, and many others.
More recently, Puppetworks has begun to develop its own ideas into transmedia concepts with the studio’s primary focus being the family genre.

Frantisek Ambrus Founder & CEO
Frantisek is a sculptor artist and a veteran graphic designer who has the creative mind to dream the future and the business acumen to make it happen. He previously founded and ran the concept art outsource company 3Mages, with studios in Budapest and Bratislava, now part of Puppetworks Studios.

Gergely Kutenics Co-Owner & COO
Gergely leads finance and operations at Puppetworks. Prior to joining Puppetworks, he managed the operations of video game developer and publisher Digital Reality. Gergely studied at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and holds his MSc in Economics from Corvinus University Budapest.

TECHNOLOGY
Our pipeline is based on industry standard software packages like Maya, Houdini, Arnold & Nuke, though we can handle projects on other platforms via conversion tools. We use custom developed asset and project management software, tailored to our needs over the years.
Our IT infrastructure ensures a strong background for high quality work.
Production files are stored on a high performance, scale-out software defined primary storage system with flash tiers. Daily backups created on a high capacity, fault tolerant scale-out software defined archive storage system, with multi PB design capacity. In-house render capacity secured by AMD Epyc based multi-node render farm with 1000+ CPU Cores. Components are connected with a 40 GbE core network with a multi 10 GbE distribution layer.
