Destroy All Humans!

Made with THQ NORDIC

Destroy All Humans! is a remake of the classic cult game from 2005. To announce the game at E3, THQ Nordic once again turned to Puppetworks to make the trailer.

Set in the 50s and featuring Rammstein's "Ich Will", Crypto hypnotizes an entire town and turns it into one big street party before he totally zaps the townsfolk. The concept was to immerse the viewer in a 50s feeling, with a typical space-age era picture of a small American town, as Crypto proceeds to mesmerize then zap the townspeople out of existence. "Ich Will" was a key element from the start and the juxtaposition of Rammstein's chaotic sounds over the idyllic 50s setting creates a stunning contrast in the trailer.

The Destroy All Humans trailer was certainly one of the most exciting projects Puppetworks has ever taken on. Executing a premium quality cinematic with a very significant visual style for our long term friends and client THQ Nordic itself was a source of inspiration to kick this project off.

Starting off with heavy concept work that closely represented the client's vision, we moved on to preparing mood boards, color scripts and character designs. Once everything was settled, we went ahead to execute them in the 3D space. Sculpting, texturing, shading, and paying attention to very small details on each character and prop was beginning to pay off very well.

One of the most exciting parts of making this trailer was also getting the chance to give its main character Crypto a chance to lip-sync to Rammstein's song - Ich Will.
