The announcement trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a four-player co-op FPS to be released by Fatshark in 2021. The game takes place in Warhammer's sci-fi setting as the players take on the heretical cult known as the Admonition deep in the bowels of the Hive City of Tertium.

We worked closely with Fatshark as they provided us with a solid storyboard to work with. From the mocap animation to the lighting concept, we worked to create a mood that would fit the darkness that Darktide and Warhammer 40,000 always evoked. The tricky part was to depict a simple story of the Imperial Guards walking into a ruined hive city without losing the attention of the audience. We paid extra attention to the detailing work of the environment, bringing it as high quality as possible on-screen and matching it as closely with the signature look of the Warhammer world as was possible. Through POV shots and heavy use of atmospheric visual effects, we establish a constant sense of thrill.

Despite its short length and single location, the trailer delves deep into representing the new game by hinting to the players what they should be expecting in the gameplay. Besides old ruins, smoke and darkness, the trailer also gives a glimpse of being unexpectedly surrounded by enemies all of a sudden.
