Our artists at Puppetworks created this 2.5D launch trailer for Might and Magic: Chess Royale, a new installment in the Might and Magic games lineup, published by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft has combined the two biggest new gaming genres of the last few years by mixing together elements of auto chess and battle royale games. In the game, players put together an army of units from the Might & Magic series in a fight against ninety-nine other players. The players must focus on creating powerful synergies between units but Chess Royale drops the teams and instead has every player fighting for themselves.

In collaboration with French creative agency Biborg, our artists and creatives worked to paint and animate illustrations. Our aim was to create a premium trailer in a very short timeframe, to showcase gameplay mechanics and story: goal achieved.
